Different Types of Cedar

Western red cedar

Eastern white cedar

Atlantic white cedar

The Atlantic white cedar tree is found on the coastal plains of the eastern United States. It has a finer texture than Eastern white but the same attractive, light color. This tree is known for its shock resistance. Like other types of cedar, it is very resistant to decay. It shrinks very little and is easily modified and manipulated with the right tools. The wood also splits easily and tends to hold paint well.
